Michael waking up by Andrew :) - January 2010

Andrew got hold of my camera again the other morning and proceeded to photograph Michael waking up - or perhaps he woke up Michael using the flash ;)

Now Michael is not a morning person and I am quite impressed that Andrew actually managed to get a smile out of him.

Cute sequence anyway......

Friends - 16 January 2010

Andrew has a group of friends, or at least friends of mine's kids, who he has (literally) known since birth. Andrew is the oldest (born June 2004), followed by abother child 2 days younger than him. Then after that follows another 3 kids all born before 31 August 2004). THen came the siblings. The first was in January 2006, then June, then Michael in July 2006 and finally a last one in April 2007.
So in other words between 4 couples that we have known for 5 1/2 years now, we have managed to have 9 children who have become great mates and play so nicely together (as do the adults :))

We had the whole lot over last weekend for a braai and I tried to get a photo of all the kids together. Needless to say I was not very successful - besides that Michael absolutely refused, I coudl not get the kids to even all look in the same direction, oh well, at least I tried.

The school year starts - 13 January 2010

So now I have 2 boys in "big school". Andrew was a star today and started grade 0 with a smile. Michael on the other hand was bawling, shame it is a big step for him now even if it is only grade 000.

Michael & Custard

The other day Michael (very innocently) asked for some custard. I gave him a bowl and off he toddled and Ed and I settled down to watch a movie. About 10 minutes later the little sod walks into the lounge grinning from ear to ear to show us his handy-work. He had painted himself from top to toe in custard. He then lead us to our bedroom where he had aslo "painted" the duvet cover, the curtains and his scooter bike. It is amazing how far a few tablespoons of custard can go!!!

Needless to say I chucked him and the bike into the bath and there they sat for about 30 minutes. At least the bike is clean for a change :)

Durban beach on New Year's Day - Jan 2010

This photo comes from News24.co.za - have you ever seen anything like this??? Amazing how many people can be on a beach at one time......

Lunch with the Edworthy's - 3 January 2010

On Sunday we went to Adega (a Portuguese Restaurant) for lunch with my friend Jenny and her family. I have know Jenny since 1992 and her family is like a 2nd family to me. Her sister's little one is a few weeks younger than Michael and Angela and her family were visiting here from the UK - hence the lunch. Madison (Maddie) is so gorgeous (I only see her once a year) and her and the boys played so nicely together and fooled around together too, as you can see from the photos.

Beach fun - December 2009

The kids had such a ball when we were on holiday and loved playing in the sand on the beach. The one day when we went down to the beach they discovered a large deep hole - and boys being boys, they spent about 45 minutes jumping into it and having an absolute blast. They were fearless I tell you.
