Teacher Melanie's party - November 2009

It was Andrew's class teacher's birthday last week and some of the mommies with kids in the classs got together and organised a party for Melanie. She was so suprised and the kids loved that they could have cake and sweets for breakfast (this all happened between 8am - 9am). I was just glad to be able to leave the sugar-rush for the teachers to sort out :)

Family gathering - 30 November 2009

So Burnard, Vanessa and the kids left for Australia on 5 November 2009 and the family all went to the farm for one last "gathering" the weekend before that. It was a lovely weekend, but quite sad to think that it will be the last time for quite a while that Ed's family will all be together again.

Burnard took the kids on a long tractor ride through the orchards, we flew kites (with very little wind), we went to the Ark (that needs a whole post on its own) to see the animals. the people and go on horse rides (the kids that is).

On Sunday we went to the Wonderboom airport for a scrumptious lunch and time for hte kids to play on what I consider to be the biggest jungle-gym in the world :).

All in all a lovely weekend and we are already missing the "other" Cross family loads!!!

Monkey's wedding - November 2009

So we had a monkey's wedding on Saturday afternoon - it is probably called different things in different parts of the world, but here in South Africa that is what it is called when it rains whilst the sun is shining. The result of this was the most beautiful rainbow. As if that could not get better a 2nd rainbow appeared above the first (look carefully at the last photo) - how magical can it get......
